What is Balayage? Imagine you went to Hawaii for 3 months and your hair was naturally lightened by spending the time surfing – that’s the look you’ll get with Balayage without ever leaving West Seattle. A French-inspired “free-hand” service giving your hair beautiful, sun-kissed highlights that are hand painted and more natural in appearance then foiling. A contemporary highlight, Balayage gives you an effortless, natural look – like you’ve spent the entire summer in the sun. This service allows for natural growout and minimal maintenance. Many balayage clients find they can go longer between highlighting services, allowing their color to grow and change with the season. The Balayage Highlight is a complex art that only our advanced stylists perform.
From subtle contrast to striking change, Ombre coloring is similar in style to Balayage but utilizes a more artistic application process. Ombre begins with darker, evenly-colored roots and transitions out to a lighter shade or even a fantasy color at the ends. Ombre color is hand applied to the hair; however, instead of adding vertical highlights this service adds color blocking. Ombre color looks great when styled with curls. Ombré Coloring is not performed by every stylist.
Single Process Color:
Also known as All Over Color, Base Color or Root Retouch, this service has a wide range of applications and is great for your first introduction to coloring. Add a base color to a Balayage or Foil service for a more comprehensive look. If grey coverage is your goal, try out Goldwell’s Extra-Bold line of natural shades to cover those stubborn grays. Also available as a demi-permanent gloss for temporary color or trying a new look. This gradually washes out after 8-12 weeks with minimal growout lines and is great to try if you’re just getting introduced to color. A toner can refresh an existing color service by warming up or cooling down your all-over tone.
Bleach & Tone:
For the client looking for a bright, solid look in platinum, white, ice-blonde or pale lavender (think Kelley Osborne), the Bleach & Tone service is for you! To maintain hair integrity, this service should only be performed on shoulder-length hair or shorter. For clients with longer hair wanting a similar appearance, we suggest a series of Full Foils. Your stylist can guide you to the services that best fits your hair situation. Olaplex is highly suggested for all Bleach & Tone services including the use of Olaplex #3 Bond Multiplier. Bleach & Tone is not performed by every stylist.
Blonde Highlights or Auburn Lowlights, Foiling is great for wearing your hair up or down. CoCo & Co. offers both a full and partial foiling services. Foiling is used to add dimension or multi-tones throughout your hair. During a Partial Foil, your stylist will place the color over the crown and top half of your head. For a flexible, more versatile look try the Full Foil which includes all the color of a partial foil but also brings the color down your neck and under your hair’s layers.
